Who We Are
The Washington Institute for a New Sudan (WINS) is an independent think tank for research and advocacy. It is committed to helping the Sudanese people build a new, democratic, and prosperous state. We focus on advancing democratic governance, social justice, federalism, and economic development as everyday realities in Sudan.

As Sudan navigates conflicts, critical transitions of state-building, and sustainable development, WINS aims to close knowledge gaps and ensure that policy and decision-making result in positive, lasting peace and change. We also foster dialogue between Sudanese and international actors to ensure global support is meaningful and constructive. Everything we do is rooted in the principles of human rights, equity, and sustainable growth.
WINS serves as an academic, intellectual, and strategic hub in Washington, D.C., offering a vital platform for Sudanese voices and their allies. Through visionary advocacy, dynamic dialogue, innovative policy development, and institutional design, WINS drives efforts to shape a new Sudan built on peace, democracy, justice, and inclusive growth.
